Baptism Celebrations

And he commanded the chariot to stand still:  and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.  Acts 8:38

The Bible is very clear about baptism.  After a person has come to the realization that he needs to be saved and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, Jesus has commanded that he be baptized.  Both Jesus and the eunuch were baptized by full immersion.  We are so excited that two of our young people followed the Lord in believer’s baptism in January.  One was our very own son, Austin.  He had been baptized before but last April he just wasn’t sure of his salvation since he made the decision at a very young age.  He wanted to know for sure and asked Jesus to come into his heart.  Tracey, the young woman that has been in Val’s discipleship and Bible studies also got baptized.  We were so thrilled to have 15 people show up for the baptism service at the pool of one of our church people’s daughter’s.  We followed the service with a family barbecue at the local park.  It was a wonderful way to start off the new year!  Tracey also completed another ten-week Bible study, "Becoming a Vessel God Can Use."  Dwayne is now discipling two men, counseling one, and leading a men’s study on the book of Jeremiah.  It is so good to see our people growing in the Lord and wanting to learn more.  Pray for Dwayne as he studies and works on his exams for his biblical counseling course.
