I sat with Nicho, an eighteen-year-old on a flight out of Munich, Germany. This former high school basketball player towered above me with his six-feet, six-inch stature. Nicho’s uncle had hired him for a chef in his restaurant. After engaging in some sports conversation, God prompted me to inquire about his church attendance. I discovered that he was attending a small infant church. I made the wrong assumption that he was a believer. I said, “Obviously, you have accepted Christ as your Savior and Lord.” He blushed and said, “No.” So there ensued a conversation about Christ Jesus, His wonderful attributes and our great needs. Several minutes later he bowed his head and prayed aloud to receive my Lord as his Savior. Afterward he excused himself. Bob a gentleman seated just ahead of Nicho turned around, looked at me and said, “You just led that young man to the Lord. I was asleep, but God awakened me and I began praying for his salvation!” I couldn’t believe my ears and I wanted to cry, but said, “That is probably the reason he opened his heart to the Savior.” He then turned to his fellow passenger and tapped him on the shoulder and implored Brooks to awaken. Bob said, “She just led that young man seated behind us to Jesus.” Soon after Brooks invited Nicho to sit with him for a few minutes while he shared the importance of salvation. He told Nicho that it was no accident, but quite significant that God had placed all three of us there to encourage him. I stand amazed at the exciting way God leads in my life.
