We had a major blessing two days before we left on our short furlough.  A dear lady whom we have been friends with came to my wife on the morning of Christmas Eve.  She had spent her life trying to please God through a couple of churches.  However, she realized that something was missing.  She had done plenty of good works, but she did not have Christ.  She and her partner became good friends with our family over the past year.  Both Lin and her partner, Steve, were very faithful to just about every service, but they still did not have a personal relationship with Christ.  On Christmas Eve, Lin came to my wife in tears, explaining that she could not get saved, because she just couldn’t be good enough.  My wife then said that she was closer to salvation than she realized, for she realized that she could never be good enough for God’s salvation.  Ruth Ann then took an open Bible and showed her how to get saved by faith in Christ alone.  Lin prayed to receive Christ that morning.  To make a good story even better, Steve received Jesus Christ as his Savior just a few weeks later!  Praise God for His matchless saving grace.
