Estella came to the birthday party out of anger. She was supposed to go to a baptismal in the Catholic Church but her husband didn’t want to go. Angry with him, she left to go for a walk. She had also been invited to the neighbor’s house for a birthday celebration so she decided to stop in. Those neighbors were members of our Hamilton congregation. That night, instead of giving a gift, she received a gift: The gift of eternal life. Since then Estella has been faithfully attending the church in Hamilton. Her husband, Salvador, has recently been accompanying her and stated to me that he was there just to try it out. This family is an excellent example of why we minister. The children have recently been saved in an English speaking Baptist church but mom and dad didn’t go because of the language barrier. Because her neighbors went to our Spanish speaking church in Hamilton, she has now accepted Christ and her husband is beginning to attend. Pray for this new believer and for her husband, Salvador, that he too will accept that free gift of Eternal Life.
