Every year there are some great stories from camp and I want to share one of them with you about a young girl named Mary Jane. Along with her family, Mary Jane lives near a landfill. They live close to a landfill or dump because that is how they make their living; scavenging what they can to sell and even eating some food that is still edible. For our young people, camp is the highlight of their summer; the trip out of Manila, the games, the new friends they make and the opportunity to hear the Gospel is a blessing that most could never afford and would never have the chance to experience without our camps. It’s also a blessing for many of them because they don’t have to worry about the meals they will eat which is a constant, daily struggle for some. Mary Jane was saved at camp this year; she gave the testimony that for the first time she understood what it meant to ask Jesus to come into her heart as her very own Savior. Unfortunately, her family will most likely still be scavenging through the dump; but, Mary Jane is now a child of the King and her mansion is waiting for her in Heaven. Please pray that Mary Jane’s family will also be reached with the Gospel.
