From Rags To Riches
From Rags To Riches

The rainy season has been upon us for a couple of months now.  Soon this part of the world will have a dry season (sometimes drought) until the tropical storms bring rain again.  Such is the cycle of God’s creation which we accept.  What is hard to experience is the drought that seems to occur occasionally in soul-winning.  We sow the Word, trust God to water it, but so often there is disappointment with the results.  Then comes victory from God’s great compassion as He reaps the harvest.

Such a victory came last Sunday evening.  That morning a shabbily-dressed man stood just outside the door as the congregation was singing our opening Hymn.  One of our men went to the door to greet and invite him in.  “But can I come in dressed like this?” he asked.  “Of course, everyone is welcome at Grace Baptist,” he was told; so Lloyd McIntosh was ushered to a seat where he heard the Gospel.  After service he was given a Church paper and encouraged to return for the evening service, which he did.  That evening, as he heard the Gospel once again, his heart was stirred; and at the invitation he came forward and received Christ as Lord and Savior.  Please pray for Bro. McIntosh as you also pray for Kenroy, who also came to those same two services.  However, though better versed and dressed, he went away as lost as he was when he came in.
