I Want To Be Changed
I Want To Be Changed

Rose is a Motswana lady that began attending the church when Tim and Barbara Downs were filling in for us.  Before the service today, Rose came and sat with me while I was preparing things for Sunday School.  We began to talk about her spiritual history.  She has been a part of the strongest church in Botswana, but it is not a Christian church.  They have many rules and regulations including the wearing of uniforms to church.  I talked with her about what they teach when they talk about going to heaven.  She explained some of the things and then I asked her if she thought she would go to heaven.  She looked at me and shook her head sadly; saying she has done too many wrong things.

Rose is not very comfortable speaking or reading in English, although she understands well.  Somehow in my Sunday School materials someone had placed a Setswana New Testament.  So, she read in Setswana as I explained God’s gift of salvation.  I asked her if she would like to call on the name of the Lord.  “Oh yes!”  She said, “and I want him to CHANGE me!”  We are so thankful to tell you that Jesus is now the Lord of her life.  Oh the changes He will bring!
