Fabiola is one of our teenage girls that has attended ever since we started our church in January of 2006.  She never misses a service or activity.  After almost a year and a half she came to Nadia and told her that she needed and wanted to accept Christ as her Savior but she wanted us to talk with her Catholic mother who would surely disapprove.  Jason thought the best way to explain what Fabiola wanted to do was by simply presenting the plan of salvation to her mother also.  After talking for quite a while her mother said, “NO, I won’t allow her to make this decision, nor do I want her getting baptized or joining your church because she was already baptized a Catholic.”  Jason explained that this decision to accept Christ didn’t have anything to do with getting baptized or joining a church.  It is a personal decision that everyone has to make if they desire forgiveness of sin and eternal life.  Her mother then said that she could make this decision when she turned eighteen but not before.  Jason then encouraged her to talk with Fabiola to understand why she so desired to make such a decision.  Before leaving, Jason told them both that accepting Christ as their Savior was something they could do right at home without him being there.  He shared with them exactly what they needed to do and left them to hopefully continue talking.  The next day Fabiola met us at the church, and we could see that she was very excited.  She said that she talked with her mother and her mother allowed her to make her own decision to accept Christ or not.  That very night Fabiola knelt beside her bed and asked Christ to forgive her of her sin and received Him as Lord and Savior.  Now, her mother will not allow her to be baptized for the time being, but praise be to God that she saw and was moved by her daughter's profound desire and allowed her to make this life changing decision.  Please pray that through the testimony of her daughter, Fabiola’s mother will soon accept Christ and the rest of her family with her!
