“Good evening, Mrs. Suzuki.” Over 50 people participated in summer camp, including a group from as far away as Okayama Prefecture. Right after I arrived at Camp, I met two of the ladies from Okayama—Mrs. Shimizu and Mrs. Suzuki. Even after 39 years on the field, I still have trouble with Japanese names, especially matching the right name with the right face, so when I attended the PM service, I saw Mrs. Suzuki and said “Good evening, Mrs. Suzuki.” She replied, “I’m not Suzuki, I’m Shimizu.” I apologized and blamed it on my memory. Well, guess who got saved that night! It was Mrs. Suzuki—no, I mean Mrs. Shimizu. This 68-year-old lady received Christ as her Savior, and even though the missionary may get her name wrong, now that she’s one of the Lord’s sheep, her Good Shepherd knows her name!
