Boisterous For The Lord
Boisterous For The Lord

We first met him when he was sixteen.  Big, noisy, obnoxious, intent on making himself heard and noticed.  Of the 29 unsaved kids at the camp he attended, Lucio was the only one to not make a decision for Christ.  As our involvement in his life grew, his story began to unfold.  Lucio has a twin sister.  “You treat unwanted children like you do unwanted kittens-put them in a weighted burlap bag and throw them in the river” was Lucio’s father’s reaction to impending fatherhood.  He then disappeared for 16 years.

One year after Lucio’s first exposure to the gospel he trusted Christ as his personal Savior.  We have been privileged to watch him grow as a Christian and as a person.  He struggled to complete elementary school, earned his GED, passed the entrance exam for a private university, graduated with a degree in marketing, and is now doing post graduate work.

During that time he has supported himself by working as an aid to city councilmen.  He also freelances for a House of Representative member.  He remains active in his church, always full of plans, always wanting things to happen now.  Though he is now 33, he is still loud and boisterous-but he is boisterous for the Lord.
