A Joyful Countenance
A Joyful Countenance

Angie had recently suffered a broken marital relationship and had returned to Portoviejo to her mother’s home.  While searching for the truth and something to ease her pain, she came across the Bible Broadcasting Network (BBN) radio station and started listening to the programs.  Tania, a new member of the church, upon hearing that her friend was listening to the truth, invited her to come to a church that taught the same doctrine.

Angie has been attending for several months now and she expressed her desire to attend a Bible study for discipleship with Grety, who had recently accepted Christ.  I politely explained to Grety that the discipleship lessons were geared for Christians, and that we would be glad to gear a separate study for Angie, as she had not yet accepted Christ.

Well, as everyone knows, the grapevine is very efficient, and before two days had passed. I heard that Angie was already saved!  Intrigued, and also a little worried lest Satan should use the occasion to cause division or disillusionment, I started looking for an opportunity to talk to Angie.  Shortly thereafter God gave me a chance to talk with her, and I listened as she related how that two weeks earlier on a Sunday morning after a study on Romans 3, she had accepted Christ into her heart.  I rejoiced with her over her decision and shared with her verses about assurance of her salvation and about God’s power in keeping her.  What a joy to see her smiling face every Sunday and hear her give her memory verse for the week!  Pray for Angie as she is without work and will be taking a test and having a work interview soon.
