An Answer To Prayers
An Answer To Prayers

Lydia came forward to pray at the altar.  One of our faithful Sunday School teachers, Juliet, went to her side to see if she could be of help.  Juliet came to me and said, “The woman refuses to talk with me and says she will only talk with you, the missionary.”  From their brief conversation, Lydia had told Juliet she knew she was not saved.  You know, when a person knows they are not saved they are either under conviction or they are defiant.  Lydia was defiant.  I spoke with her and showed her a few verses, but to no avail.  With the Bible study getting ready to begin, I begged her to stay, encouraging her that the class would help answer some of her questions.  Lydia stayed for the class but left as soon as it was over.  Lydia had signed the attendance sheet and had given her mobile number, so I was able to text her and I thanked her for being in the class.  The next week she didn’t come.  The following week, during the main service, she came forward and said, “I want to be saved.”  It didn’t take long and Lydia was praying and asking the Lord to save her.  The first question she asked after she had trusted the Lord was, “What’s next?”  When she sat in the Bible Study class that followed, she was a different person—no longer defiant, but like a sponge ready to soak it all up.  Juliet was also very happy to claim Lydia as an answer to her prayers. We both had dealt with her and had been praying for her.
