It's Really For Teenagers

Camp was all that we hoped it would be.  The children came home just bursting to tell us every wonderful thing they had seen, heard and done.  It’s amazing how the ordinary is transformed into the extraordinary because its camp.  It didn’t matter that more children arrived than expected and a few boys slept on the floor rolled in blankets; they weren’t interested in my sympathy since boys are tough and they didn’t sleep many hours any way.  They worked hard to learn more Bible verses in a few days that we could get them to learn in a month at home (points for our team!).  They saw eagles and baboons and slid in the mud on the mountain trail.  And 10 year old Brian accepted Christ as his Savior.  The teen girls insisted that I had to hear them sing the wonderful new song they’d learned.  “Behold, behold I stand at the door and knock, knock, knock (x2) if anyone hears my voice, if anyone hears my voice, and will open, open, open the door; I will come in!”  They were finishing the song with enthusiasm when Kim got a puzzled look on her face.  “Teacher, have we heard you singing that with the little ones?  Why didn’t you ever teach it to us?  Didn’t you know Jesus said that in Revelation cause he wants us to invite him in for devotions?  It’s really for teenagers!”
