“No Hurry in Africa” That is such a common phrase here in Kenya. It's on bumper stickers, sides of buses, t-shirts, etc. The list goes on and so does the theory. Every three years I have to renew my papers that allow me to live here. They would compare somewhat to a visa, though a bit more permanent. Well, I applied for my renewal in March of this year. The papers expired in June. The renewal should have been ready by then. However, it wasn’t and they did not even have a record of my application. I have spent several liters of fuel and many hours trying to get somewhere with this process. Every time I was told to come back next week or in two weeks. Well, thank the Lord, finally this last week I got my renewal, though I must admit that I did not go into that office building with much confidence. I’m glad the Lord doesn’t hand out blessings only according to my faith.
