These last couple of months have been a real whirlwind of activity. We have been packing, repacking, driving, saying good bye, flying, and finally we are here. As we flew into Nicaragua at night, we could see the lights of Managua and it seemed as if they stretched on forever. It was hard to hold back the tears that day as we saw a city that needs Christ. Now that we are here, life is just as busy. We are looking at vehicles (we found one), setting up our residency, finding our way around, trying to learn Spanish on our own, and getting settled in. We know it will take some time to adjust, but we are confident that we will be able to. In just a few weeks we will be starting formal language classes in our home with a well qualified tutor named Ramon. He teaches at the University in Managua and has a tutoring program. He has already said he will push us hard and pile on the homework. Learning Spanish will be our primary ministry for at least the first year. Communication is the basis for the sharing of the Gospel, so learning Spanish effectively will be vital for a fruitful ministry here. Matt Kanaar, Nicaragua
