In the beginning of our ministry to the public and private schools, we approached the leadership team of the second largest high school in our valley seeking permission to present our program to the students and faculty of one high school.  Although we did indeed gain permission and won a number of student and faculty members to Christ, one of those who most vocally opposed the idea stands out in my mind.  He was very courteous but felt that we “evangelicals” had nothing to contribute to an academic environment.

That was before that professor and leader accepted Christ as his personal Savior!  Once Christ became precious to his soul, Byron could not refrain from sharing Him with his students.  At first there was just the mention of His name, then short devotionals with his home room class.  As the word of what he was doing spread and the effect was clearly seen, Byron was asked to have Bible classes with one, and then another, and then another group until he now teaches Bible classes four times a week!

Janet, Byron’s wife, accepted Christ as her Savior and she too was baptized in our main church. That was not enough to satisfy the desire of their hearts, so they publicly committed their lives to ministry.  It is a thrill indeed to have this fine couple join our team as they prepare for full time service.
