At 10:00 PM, Oscar, a single man and future pastor, was about to embark on a bus trip to the province of Cordoba, in the center of the country, 700 kilo metros (500 miles) away, to visit Daniela, a young lady who attends the church where colleague missionary Ray Masters works. Oscar became acquainted with Daniela at a youth conference here in our province of Mendoza. Ten minutes before his departure from the Mendoza bus terminal, Oscar observed another bus fill up with passengers and depart. A young man in a hurry to get to his destination wished he had purchased his ticket on the bus that left 10 minutes earlier in order to arrive 10 minutes sooner to see Daniela. You remember how important 10 minutes are to a young man (and a young lady) desirous to make progress in their sentimental ministries. But, Oscar was obliged to wait 10 minutes longer which seemed like 10 hours. He finally boarded and began his long over night bus journey.
About an hour after leaving Mendoza, Oscar’s bus approached a serious accident scene on the highway in which a tired truck driver coming from Buenos Aires (which is all the way across the country), had crossed the center line and crashed head on into the bus that left 10 minutes before Oscar did. Oscar arrived at the terrible tragedy sight even before the police had arrived and was unaware that four people were killed in the violent crash. Oscar was no longer disappointed; on the contrary, he was extremely thankful at leaving 10 minutes behind the other bus.
