I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It has been a long year, both physically and emotionally. A year ago I had my cancer surgery. That was followed, twelve days later, by emergency surgery and a month long stay in the hospital, and then, months and months of recovery. A month ago, I had my third and final surgery to reconnect my colon. The surgeon says I should be back to normal by Christmas. Through it all, God has given us a great host of prayer warriors, who have fervently prayed. I am so thankful to the Lord for sparing my life. I am also thankful to my family and friends who supported me in this trial.
Pastors and missionaries have filled the pulpit when I was either in the hospital or too weak to preach. Jon, one of our young men, had to fill the pulpit without notice when I had a kidney stone attack early one Sunday morning. We have learned to trust the Lord and not ourselves.
