Wet But Not Drenched
Wet But Not Drenched

Our young people from the church in San Jorge spent six months planning a two-day youth rally for the teenagers from all of our churches. A week before the youth rally, the church bus was shot at from a passing car. Thankfully, no one was hurt. However, the damage to the bus left them without a bus to use for the youth rally. They continued planning for Saturday, undaunted. Then the real storms started...it began raining on Thursday, and continued all through the weekend! The place where they had rented tarps to put up for the rally canceled them on Friday. So at 2 a.m. on Saturday they were putting up a nylon canvas that was held together at every seam with duct tape! As the rain continued to fall, teenagers started to arrive. Before long they had 125 teens worshipping God under that old nylon canvas. Pockets of rain began to accumulate at the seams, as the organizers of the rally looked on with great concern, sure they were about to see the canvas tear open and the teenagers get drenched!  Just as they were convinced the canvas could hold no more, a great gust of wind came up and blew the water away! That happened time and time again during the afternoon…just as the canvas could hold no more, a gust of wind would come and blow the water away! The youth rally continued unhindered and 14 teenagers accepted Christ! The next day they had 150 teens in attendance and some sunshine as God’s SON shined, and many young people made decisions in their Christian walk. GOD IS SO FAITHFUL!
