Masakhane Baptist Church in Pietermaritzburg just completed its third Children’s Bible Club. What another great year we had with the children! We had 300 children per day with 18 of our church members volunteering to help. To end the Bible Club we had 36 precious souls give their hearts to Christ!
For the third year our oldest daughter Amy wrote up the curriculum for the Bible Club. Each day we had a bible story, games and a craft. We began the morning from 9:00 – 9:40 with singing as the children arrived at different times. We then divided the children into three different age groups. After each group went to different areas for games, bible story and crafts for about 40 minutes, we then rotated them. By 12:00 all the groups would have been in each part of the Bible Club. We ended the mornings with all the children in the church auditorium with singing and announcements. During each morning, there were four of our church ladies working in the kitchen preparing a meal which we fed to the children at the end of the day. A lot of work but what joy there was for all of us to see these children enjoy the food!
On Friday after the Bible Club was finished and the children had left we had a braai (barbeque) for all the workers as a way to say thank you for all their hard work during the three days.
