Just Take It!
Just Take It!

A year has transpired since I began this journey as a short term missionary.  I was approved by the BBFI for one to three years.  Barry and Pat Dunmire, missionaries to England, have invited me to return as house parent to the college students.  My duties have been varied.  The main positions I have filled are that of cook, librarian, Ladies Bible Study coordinator, Sunday school teacher, and assistant to Ruth Ann Pickett in their church with “Mums and Tots.”

Since I have been in England, I have prayed for an automobile.  I live in Cannock at the edge of a forest and it is quite remote.  In order for some of the students to go into towns, they, like me, need to catch a ride with someone or walk.  A couple of weeks ago, God answered that prayer.  Steve, a friend of Jim the caretaker at the White House, had a Ford Fiesta, 1992, with 71,000 miles.  It is a standard shift with the gear shift on the left, but a four door car which is gas efficient.  I went to see this car with check book in hand.  Jim said to his friend after a lengthy inspection of it, “Tell Laura how much you want for the car.” Steve looked at me and said, “If you will just take it, I will be glad to give it to you!”  This was an incredible example to the college students of our prayer answering God.
