There is a lady named Amelia who got saved in our church about four years ago and has continued faithfully in the church ever since. Last year, her sister from Mexico City was here visiting her. She got saved and baptized in our church while here and when she returned home was able to find a church to attend. She recently opened her home to a home Bible Study where she was able to see some of her neighbors get saved. She also has a step-daughter who has leukemia and was about to die – she shared the gospel with her and she too got saved. She is now recovering miraculously and has been released from the hospital! Last night at prayer meeting, Amelia shared that her sister had called her with yet another answered prayer. She had been a chain smoker for many, many years and had been earnestly praying that the Lord would take that away from her and He has. She said that she just woke up one morning with no desire to smoke and so she threw them all away and she can now even be around other smokers and has no desire to pick them back up. What a joy it is for us to hear of these answered prayers and to see how God continues to work in lives – even when we aren’t there to personally see it. Many times we plant the seed and never hear of it coming to fruition – but won’t it be a glorious day when we get to heaven and we see fruit from those many times that we planted the seed and thought that it had fallen on unfertile soil!! God promises that His Word will never return void!!!
