Thanks for praying for us and for the country of Kenya. Things are still not right here yet, but there is a lot less violence than there has been. We thank the Lord for the place where we live. We rent a house in a secure estate not far from the National Airport. It has been quiet and safe where we stay. The areas where our churches are located have been good as well. However, Pastor Samuel of the Kitengela Baptist Church said that when the trouble first started he saw about 300 young men going around and evicting people from their area that were of another tribe. There are ongoing negotiations led by Kofi Annan in Nairobi between the different political groups to try to resolve the current problems. There seems to be some progress.
Last week we had a wonderful conclusion to a month long Missions Month starting in January. The attendance was higher and the Lord blessed in the different aspects of the services. Also, there was a good Faith Promise offering promised. We hope and pray that the people will be faithful to what they committed. Presently the church is supporting three Kenyan missionaries in two different countries. We are planning to increase the amounts given to our missionaries of Bible Baptist Church. Also Peter Kasamba, one of our missionaries, is nearly ready to go to Tanzania for his first term. Please pray that he gets the additional support needed because it is difficult to travel in Kenya now for deputation.
