It has been a little over nine months now since violence broke out across the country as a result of disputed presidential election results. Calm returned about six months ago although there are still a few areas in which tension is high. I was pleasantly surprised about two weeks ago when I saw Mary return to the youth class. She had left at the beginning of the year, having been chased from her home under threats of harm. Her house had even been stoned on a couple of occasions. Nearly every week since, I have asked her friends if they had heard from her or knew when she would return. They would always answer, "No." They only knew she had gone about ten hours away to her home area. But two weeks ago she walked back into our class, all smiles, and it was refreshing to see her again.
